Sebastian Krantz
I am a PhD student in Quantitative Economics at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy as part of the Research Center International Development and the Africa Initiative.
I conduct data-intensive research on Africa's economic transformation using novel methods and data sources. My research focuses on optimal infrastructure investments (spatial allocation problems), regional and global value chains, and macroeconomic stability and resilience.
I am also an active open-source contributor, developing high-performance statistical software libraries for R and Julia.
Lastly, I create open-access databases and web applications providing information on Africa and African economies.
I'm on the job market, considering opportunities for policy-relevant research or technical work.
