Transport Network Optimizer
The Transport Network Optimizer is a web application for computing welfare-maximizing transport networks on user-supplied graphs, implementing the quantitative spatial economic model of Fajgelbaum & Schaal (2020, Econometrica). Given economic fundamentals – population, productivity, housing, and any pre-existing network – it solves for the optimal allocation of infrastructure investment across a graph, subject to a construction budget. Results are displayed on an interactive map and live solver output is streamed into a console. It is powered by the open-source OptimalTransportNetworks.jl Julia package (see also Software).
